The Minister of Development of the Province of Buenos Aires, Andrés Larroque, expressed his 'solidarity' this Saturday with former Planning Minister of Kirchnerism Julio De Vido and warned about the need to guarantee 'proper medical care' and 'detention conditions' compatible with his health status. The official's social media statements came after the wife of the former official, Alessandra Minicelli, denounced alleged mistreatment and irregularities at the Central Penitentiary Hospital (HPC) in Ezeiza. 'In protest against the unjust conviction of Julio De Vido, we express our full solidarity and our concern for the violation of his guarantees regarding his health,' stated the official about the former deputy who is serving his sentence in the Federal Penitentiary Complex. In his message, he emphasized that 'it is essential that without delay he is given proper medical care and it is assessed whether the detention conditions are compatible with the treatment he must receive due to his chronic illness and his age.' The minister also questioned the judicial process. 'Justice must never, in any case, be an instrument of political persecution or promote torture.'
